THE CARBONATION EQUATION
THE FIZZICS BEHIND YOUR BUBBLES
The Carbonation Equation: The Fizzics Behind Your Bubbles explores the science behind what gives your drinks their sparkle – and what silently steals it away.
Campari Academy UK and Schweppes are proud to welcome Ross Lawrie (Brand Ambassador – Scotland) to present a must attend seminar at this years Edinburgh Bar Show.
This seminar breaks down the physics & chemistry of carbonation in an accessible way, explaining how dissolved CO₂ behaves in a drink and why some ingredients help preserve that perfect fizz while others destroy it.
From sugars and acids to tannins, proteins, and pulp, we’ll look at the common cocktail components that flatten bubbles and why they do it. By understanding how texture, viscosity, nucleation points, and ingredient composition affect carbonation, this is how we can build drinks that stay lively from first pour to last sip – keeping every serve as bright and schweppervescent as intended.
